Do you do anything crafty for Easter?

My Mom used to make up Easter baskets for a craft bingo prize when I was a kid. I've been coloring eggs as a craft. Someday, when I retire, I'd like to take just two weeks and have a really crafty Easter. I love the pastels of the season and I often get to host Easter at my house. So any ideas would be appreciated. What kind(s) of craft or crafts do you do for Easter? If you don't do any, do you know anyone who does and can you tell me what they do?

Other than coloring eggs, sometimes I do some crafty things. But now all my Easter things are not here, so if I did anything, it would be these special cookies I make for Easter..My family loves them and it tells the story of Jesus as you make them...:)

That sounds really neat. How do they tell the story of Jesus as you make them? Can you tell me more? This is very interesting.

WoW! That's even cooler than I thought it would be! That's amazing. Hollow cookies. Peacans sound really good. I love it, there is so much to it, like an Easter ceremony in your home. That is amazing. Where did you ever hear/learn of it? Thank you so very, very much!

Easter jars, that's different. What are in your Easter jars? Is it like Easter baskets? Or are you decorating jam/jelly jars for Easter? That's really interesting and different as an idea. I love decorating jars and won third place and honorable mention for a couple of jars at the fair, but I've never Easter decorated any. Such a cool idea. Easter cards, neat! Table runners, very cool. I can do the first one and I'll have to think of some ideas for the second one. Thank you very much for responding. These ideas will really help to keep me busy when I retire someday.

I don't do anything for Easter. I'd like to do one of those egg wreaths, but I've never managed it.

Egg wreaths, I just saw one a few month ago. They're neat. That's a cool idea for when I retire for one of my days. We have lots of stuff to make wreaths on hand. We have grape vines that always need to be pruned back. Thanks.

I used to make the little tiny baskets out of paper from a creative craft pc program. I would them put little treats in them, (the size would hold maybe 4 hersey kisses) and easter grass. Then put one on each plate at dinner. I did this at Christmas too, but included with a little "toy" or keychain or something I know that person would like. The Halloween miniature hershey bars are good for this and those ferrero rocher gold balls!

I'm making Easter egg decorations from polymer clay. I paint the eggs and then decoupage pictures of all my mom/dad in-laws grandchildren on each egg for them to display as a decoration. My mother in-law loves that stuff and she'll keep it displayed for about a month after Easter! That's about all I have planned for Easter crafts... so many craft shows coming up : (

I haven't tried polymer yet, but I'm really curious about it. Only lack of $ is stopping me right now, but I really want to do something with it soon. Take care

Polymer is a lot of fun to play around with. I don't work much with it, but when I start, it's a medium that I get involved with for about a week or two. When you have a bit of mad-money to spend, and a local Michael's or AC Moore (or any crafty store) look for their sales, you can sometimes buy a pasta machine from the stores for 50% or more off the price. The machine makes working with poly clay so much easier. Packages of clay aren't all that expensive, but if you are going to decoupage (you can ask some of the other crafters what they use-- I remember a thread about water & glue)or finish your piece with a glaze... the cost starts climbing. I always make extra pieces and leave them unfinished... they come in handy when something comes up. Paint the piece, add a small photo, and then cover with a gloss finish...add a ribbon and you have a simple, yet beautiful pendant/necklace.

Normally for Easter I just color eggs, but this year I'm planning on doing something craftier! I plan to make little animals out of the eggs. I'll be sure to post some photos on here when I make them! A neat Easter craft that I've seen and something you might want to try one year are Eggshell Votives. Pour wax in colored eggshell halves and add a wick and you've got cute Easter candles!

I'll have to try it with halves. I tried with an entire one with the ends blown out, the melted wax just ran right out the other end. So did you make them? How did they turn out? Are the pictures on your profile page yet? Or where? Thanks and take care.

Yes I do have a really cheeky ones and funny ones for the kids. I use to hide the egss and let them find it I put a color coding and have an equal price for each color.. the most hardest and expensive activity is asking them to eat he egg uncook but they know here a good price that awaits them so they do it no matter what it taste like

It sounds fun until the raw eggs. Our health officials here don't want us to have eat raw eggs any more because of Samanilla poisoning that lands people in the hospital and has killed some people. Take care
