It is always interesting to me to learn how people met one another and somehow fell in love...sometimes they are introduced by mutual friends or by family, some use online dating services, sometimes they work together, other times they met through a club or group or hobby...some have been completely random chance encounters. I met my husband because of a sharpie marker. He needed a marker, and I just so happened to have one brand new sharpie marker. I was very skeptical to let him bororw it, people always steal pens or markers without realizing it and you never see them again...but he very coyly wrote down my name and number and promised he would give it back:) Sure enough I did get it back the next day and soon after we became friends and started dating a few months later. So how about you? How'd you guys meet? Have an good stories to share?

Mu husband and I met, for the first time, about 30 years ago at work but we were both married then so we were just coworkers. Then he went a different way and quit his job. Then about 20 years ago we met again at another job and again we were just coworkers as I was divorced and he was still married. Then I quit the job and moved on. Then again about 12 years ago we met at another job, again, and this time we were both divorced and single so we started dating. We have now been together ever since and married for the last 11 years come May. It is like we were meant to be, with meeting up with each other so many times, although we are now having marital problems but are seeing a councilor for dealing with them.

wow...it does seem that you are meant to be with each other after so many chance meetings! There was a book written about people meant to be together and kept meeting each other...i really wish i remembered what it was called but for the life of me i can't! if i remember i'll let you know! It does get harder as the years get by - i hope the counseling helps you both! thanks for sharing your story!

i meet my fiance after i graduated out of high school. i took a trip to indianapolis to just get away from things back home and he just happened to be friends with one of cousins i was in town seeing. i only saw him a few times then it was back home so i could get ready to ship off to college. few years later i started using myspace to find some of my old friends from high school and i came across his page. i had no idea if he remembered me or not but i took a shot and sent him a message. that was almost a year ago now, we are expecting our first child in may and plan on getting married here in the next year.

Although we are not together now, the story of how i met my ex-wife is a really interesting, if not romantic one! Once upon a time I had a little three piece country band and we were traveling in South Texas playing! Well our drummer quit me and my bass player and left us down there without a drummer! I immediately went to the music stores bulletin boards and all we could find was a female drummer looking for a job! So we interviewed her and hired her the next week! She was a good drummer, and she blended in with us very well! Needless to say, 4 months later her and I started going together, and two years later we got married and started having kids! We had four kids togther and had our band for 13 yrs, and we finally split up, seperated and went our own seperate ways! We are still close friends, because even though our kids are grown up, they still need us to come around and spend time with the grandkids!

We both had the same summer job when we were in college, and one foggy morning I, uh, "forgot" to turn the lights off on my car, so that he would have to take me home. The rest is history.

Ours is an arranged marriage. My dad had taken us all to visit relatives in North India. There when we had been to my mom's aunt's house, she have told my mom that her best friend's youngest son is yet to be married and they are looking out a girl for him and so immediatly after we came back, my parents met them and as they have known my mom from her childhood and so it all materialized well. Though my inlaws came home to see me as per the tradition we both, me and my DH met in a hotel the day after my inlaws came. Thanks for rekindling my memories

That is neat, I didn't even think of that way of meeting someone - it is not common at all where I live!
