Guys i was watching a T.V show on etv which showed the foot prints of lord hanuman, Rama and Sita. These were based in sri lanka which is were the great battles took place. The mountain sanjeevini carried by Lord hanuman is also visible. How many people actually know this and you should be visiting this place as it is wonderful. This site is being promoted by Lanka tourism. Foot prints of lord hanuman were being washed by a stream of water from mountains. Give me your thoughts on these.

I wish I could go look, but I don't think I'll be making it anytime soon. Fun stuff, and beautiful country!

Well, I am not here to offend or mock at you. But do you think Ram or Sita or Hanuman are historical characters? I have been taught in my schools by my teachers who were hindu that the characters are not historical bit fictitious ones... and the epic was not to give historical description of the past, but a moral lesson. I find it strange when some people argue that Ayodhya is also the birthplace of Ram. I have not read historians who have written that the characters are historical.

Well head hunter first thank you for viewing and responding to my discussion.
I just described the efforts of srilanka tourism in patrionising Lord rama. It all depends upon the way people take it, try to live life as said in the moral lessons then you will be considered as the mentor for thousands. Hindu or religion should never come into light during these discussions as he might be the perfect man for some or a god for others etc etc it all depends upon people perception. Regarding ayodhya i am just a common man not a historian, sadhu, politician whatever to comment again it all depends upon people perception different people different thoughts and views. Historians who are they every second is a history, they recorded it and some are not recorded. Some are recorded and some are not. Bye the way one of the larger question is who is god any answer. UNEXPLAINED MIRACLES AND EVENTS RECORDED IN HISTORY AND SOME ARE NOT AND SOME CANNOT BE EXPLAINED. written in caps to highlight the subject.
Epic, sagas, history etc are always questioned.

yeah .. a lot of these revelations and discoveries are comming on TV now.. It is good to get the information.. cause all our past and culture has washed away.. Very rightly said if you want to destroy a country ..just eliminate all historical records and culture....

Yes i agree with you regarding preserving history and culture as this will form basis for our younger generation. Revelations in the T.V are increasingly becoming visible because of our interest in knowing them. Thanks for visiting and participating in our discussion. Any info please let enlighten us.
