I have swam in the sea and prefer to swim in warm tropical waters. I like to swim in calm water and can get scared if the waves are really rough I sometimes go to indoor swimming pools and if the weather is hot like to swim in outdoor pools. I was bathing in a river and the water pushed me along and grabbed to stop me floating away. I have swam in the water pool in front of a waterfall.
Which different places have you gone for a swim?
Where is your favorite place to swim and why?
Thanks

I like to swim, and my favorite place is in the Mediterranean in the summer time. No sharks, and warm water. Pretty clean water as well - at least in Greece where I like it the most.
I have gone swimming in rivers, creeks, in indoor and outdoor pools. I have also gone swimming in small lakes in the woods or in the mountains. In the mountains it was so cold that it was painful to be in for more than a few seconds. But it was refreshing and clean:-)

The Seychelles has some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. One time it was raining but it was still delightfully warm in the sea. Yes, seeing a shark is scary because whatever their size they have sharp teeth. When I was in the Maldives I was doing some paddling when I noticed some baby sharks in the shallow water.

Yes, mountain water is refreshing but freezing cold. Waterfalls can be chilly but also quite pristine. The Mediterranean Sea has some lovely beaches but I prefer the warmer tropical waters and seeing palm trees. I like to see small harmless sharks but not large dangerous ones.

I haqve been in the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, Lake Erie, Cumberland Falls. The Pacific is icy cold, the Atlantic was soft and warm. But the salt gets itchy when you dry off. The Lake was stinky like fish. I prefer a pool, I love going out in my yard and getting in the pool. Mine is above ground, I do like big inground pools too.

I have heard that when you are in a body of water with a high salt content that it is impossible to sink. That somehow that salt keeps you floating. Is that true? I envy you some of your travels. I would love to travel around the world someday. I live in the US and have traveled my country alot. I have also been to Mexico and to Canada, never over seas. Hopefully someday.

I have swum in the Aegean sea off Rhodes which is nice and warm, but I have always a fear in swimming in foreign oceans because you don't know what's in the water and how the tides are and whether there is a current underneath. I prefer to swim in a pool, like the hotel pool because I feel much safer, it's probably because I've watched too many horror films where creatures have come out of the sea! I don't like swimming in the sea in the UK because they are polluted and again fear of the unknown and those horrible jellyfish that you get here yuk!

Yes, pools are safer than the ocean. I also worry about pollution sometimes. I swam in Spetse in Greece and came across harmless jelly fish but the stinging box jellyfish in Australia are dangerous. I like to go snorkeling that way I can see where I am swimming and what is around me. The fish and coral look so colorful and pretty. When I was in Samoa I went snorkeling in a marine reserve. The nice coral was out by a pole in the sea. I swam out to it and started exploring. I didn't realize it but the tide dragged me further out to sea than I wanted to be. It was difficult to swim back it and I had to go in a semi circle to avoid going against the strong current. It was scary and tiring but luckily I made it back in to land.

I prefer swimming indoors too. I feel somewhat more safe swimming in pools than in beaches. I feel that beaches will really burn my skin. haha
I am afraid of getitng sunburn and though i put on several sunblock, my skin just seems to absorb every sun's rays.
I have never tried swimming in lakes or rivers.. but i would like to try sometime. Also, i have always wanted to feel a real life waterfall in my head while swimming. i guess that's a wonderful thing!! :D

Where do I swim? You ask an Aussie who lives near the sea!
Seriously, I swim in my backyard pol a lot. I have swum plenty of times in public swimming pools. I have swum in many oceans. The beaches at Adelaide not not have high safe, and are safe if one stays close to shore & stays between the flags.
I have swum at the beaches on Kangaroo Island. They are beautiful, but most are not safe.
I have swum in the tropical seas off Bali.
I have swum in rivers, but am not so keen on that as our only river is dirty.
I have swum in dams in the outback, or on the rare occasion a rock pool in the outback.
I have swum in Spencers Gulf a lot as that is where I was brought up. I used to jump from the jetty into the channel. I would never do that now.
I scared of high surf as I have no childhood experience of that.
I have swum in the Toronto Lakes.

Yes, asking an Aussie that lives near the sea is great because she will have much experience of swimming in different places. Swimming between the flags is sensible. Kangaroo Island has some gorgeous beaches and it is one of my favorite places that I have been to. Wow! It was brave of you to jump from the jetty into the channel. Yes, kids can some crazy things like that. I am not keen on swimming in dirty rivers either. I imagine that the Toronto Lakes were really cold. It must be fantastic to have a pool in your backyard. I hear that Adelaide has a heatwave at the moment. I am sure Bali is a stunning place for a swim.

I have swam in a swimming pool and I have swam in a lake and I have swam in a river and I have swam in the ocean. I don't like swimming in the ocean because of the salt water so I won't do it again, although I am glad I did it the one time to try it. I have swam in a river a few times, when we have gone camping, but the water is usually pretty dirty in the rivers. I have swam in a swimming pool but it just isn't all that great because you need to constantly turn around since they aren't all that big. And last, but not least, I have swam in lakes and I like them the best because I can go a long way before I have to turn around and come back and because they are clean and not salty.
