Strange Rash

I am wondering if anyone can help, my 4 year old little girl has had a rash now for almost a year and no one can seem to tell me what it is. I have had over 17 doctors look at it and 2 skin specailists yet they still can not work out what it is.
The rash starts out looking alot like a very red dot almost like a spot, but then all of a sudden turns into a big circled rash that is bright red and very dry and almost looks like fish scales. I am really at the end of my teather with it and just wondered if anyone had seen or heard of anything like this before.
Thank you in advance.........

It sounds to me like Eczema I have it and it is really dry skin. I have a friend that has a daughter that has it and it started the same way. She has had it since she was little. It would spread all over her body hands face everywhere. Have any of the doctors treated her for it??? all you really need to do is get some sensitive skin cream and apply it 4-8 times per day.

Another thing you can try that my friend was told to do with her daughter is bathing her in baby oil once a week because it helps keep the moisture in her skin. I really hope you can figure this out hun.

could be eczema. This could be from a food allergy. The most common ones are milk, eggs, wheat, tomatoes and sugar. the doctor will prescribe a steroid cream which may or may not work and tell you not to bathe your child as much and use a lot of lotion. i also found a detox spray at my health food store that seems to help a bit.

That sounds like the same type of thing that I had when I was younger. Mine would start out small, and then get pretty good sized. It would show up in the crooks of my elbows, behind my knees, all over my shins, and under my arms. It would even show up on my eyelids once in a while. My doctors couldn't figure it out either. This might sound a bit weird, but if you have some corn starch, put it in the refrigerator for a while so it gets good and cold. Then take a white sock, dip it in the corn starch, and then apply it to the affected areas. It helps ease the irritations of the rash, and for me it actually helped it to go away. I think the thing with the sock is that if you use a colored one the dye will cause even more irritation. This is something that my friend's grandmother swore by, and it really did work for me. Maybe it will help your daughter too, if she's not allergic to it that is.

My daughter has exactly what you describe. She has had it since she was 6 months old (she is 16 years old now) her nerves make it worse.. if she is stressed she will break out worse than if she isn't. the dermatologists called her rash eczema.

It seems that everyone here has been very helpful and came up with the same senario for it, so thank you very much for your help. I am taking her of to the doctor later so will mention this.

I am not sure if I can help as you have seen alot of doctors already but do you live in tick country? Rocky Mountain spotted fever shows up as a big circle and I think it takes a while for that to appear. just somethingto think about.
