I currently have a desk top Dell 2004. Previously, my husband had a computer, but he doesn't remember the name of it. I just quizzed him and he failed. At my last job, I used a ProStar lap top. What do you have?

That sounds like a really cool computer for pleasure. What are all the bells and whistles that it came with?

Its a desktop, so there's room... I have dvd drive, cd burner, dvd-rom, a floppy drive (!), all the jacks and outlets I'll ever need behind a panel on the front. The most RAM and ROM I could get at the time, and the fastest processor, and a kickin' video card and sound card. There's an all-in-one printer that can handle cardstock, cuz thats what I work with for my journals and greeting cards. A 19-inch flat monitor, too. My kids and grandkids are all 'puter geeks... they're SO jealous... but they can use it anytime, cuz they set it up for me.

Am using a desktop Dell right now. Have had it about a month. My previous computer was custom built and when I asked the store owner what kind it was, he had no answer for me other than it was custom built. As it turns out he charged me a ton of money and the computer only lasted about 2 1/2 yrs. Found out he put old parts in the computer and sold it to me as brand new. I won't have one built ever again. Dell is a solid company with a good reputation so am hoping I get a few good years from this new one. We have a laptop but don't know the brand and haven't turned it on in about 10 yrs. so it's most likely not usable any longer. Would cost too much to overhaul and update.

Lap top that is 10 years old, must have been one of the first ones. I have a Dell also. It sounded like a tractor until a friend of ours tighened everything that had come loose in shipping. Now it's really quiet. But lots of them that I've tried to use at other places sound like tractors, so having things tightened by a professional and leveling the stand underneath the cpu is really a help. Custom built with old parts is rehab at best and cobbled at worst. He should have told you that and given you a deal on the entire thing. Hope that person gets a conscious or gets put out of business. My Dell is from 2004 and it's now 2008, so I think you will get some years out of it. I probably need to update it this year, though. Take care and thanks for responding.

I always build my own PC, never had a branded one. I'm currently using an AMD Phenom 9500, 2GB RAM, and a measly Radeon X600 (still saving up to get an HD 3870). As for my mobile computing, I use an old Acer TravelMate 2423NWXMi.

Wow! I so envy you. Being able to build your own. Really, really, cool. Like your name, too. Don't usually see it unless you're studying culture, pyramids of South America, or the like. Take care.

Thank you too for your comment. Not many people know about the feathered serpent, indeed. :)

I always build my own computer. I now use an old but faithful rig: Celeron 2.7Ghz, 1.5Gbs RAM, and a Radeon 9550 VGA card. It's old, but it can play most games, and I watch movies with it a lot :) Before this one, I had a PIV 1.5Ghz, 512MB RAM, and Radeon 9100, which can play Counter-Strike at highest setting!! ^^
