Did you buy a house? What year do you finish your mortgage up?

My parents bought this house for me to live in 1984. We finished the morgage in 1999 when we took out a remodeling loan. Looks like it'll be another 10 years or so before this loan is done.

I think as soon as our house is paid off, we will need a loan for repairs. Paying for a home really never quits.

I bought my house about 3 years ago and I still have about 25 years to go. I am trying to pay it off sooner and make extra repayments but it's so hard here in Australia at the moment as the interest rates are rising very fast.

I bought mine locked in at 7%. Fixed rate mortgage. Mortgages have gone down here, the last I knew. Making extra payments is hard here because prices of everything have gone up due to the cost of oil and fuel, but the amount we're being paid hasn''t gone up. Take care and I wish you luck. 25 years, I would be 75 yrs old.

We paid ours off about 16 years ago... there is nothing else in the world that feels as good as not having a mortgage!

You have not long to go then you lucky thing, we have another 22 years to go yet unless we get lucky and win some money to clear it, which is not very likely! So thats around 2040.
