Funny, my lawyer told me about this song last week. I should look it up on youtube and listen to it. If I were to write a letter to myself when I was 17, there is a lot that I would say. I would tell myself how important it is to stay in college. To enjoy each and every day -- it only gets harder as I have gotten older. And I'd tell myself to smile more. I was beautiful, but I had no idea. :)

I thought about that, but it's a divorce lawyer. Out of that marriage came two beautiful daughters I wouldn't trade for anything. Maybe I'd warn myself not to let him get off the hook so easily. Long story. If I had just been stronger a year and a half ago, I wouldn't need the lawyer now. ;)

I'd tell myself alot about men. I'd tell myself not to be so wild.

I've heard that song, by Brad Paisley. I think if I wrote a letter back to myself at seventeen, my main message would be to hold on, it gets better. Life gets better. It will get worse before it gets better, but you're going to make it, just believe it. At 17 I was in college and just trying to hang on and not slide into the depression that was stifling me.

Great discussion! I love the ones that make me go hmmmmmmmmm
Here is my letter to myself
Dear Me,
My parents are NOT stupid. They trust me, honor me, and want whats best for me. They do the things they do because they love and care about my well-being. I know this, because I have a 17 and a 16 year old now who do all of the things I am doing now, have done, or are thinking about doing. Cherish life. It is short. Love, live and laugh always. I will be a much happier person later on in life. OH and when I have children, remember, they are NOT little adults and are learning about the world as they grow. Have patience, enjoy them, because pretty soon, they grow up and will be gone
Love,
Me

I would say that Life is not a bed of roses. There are troubles and dangers ahead. However, youve got to have faith. The most important decision youll ever make are the ones concerning your heart. Good slid values will help you through and it pays to listen to older people whove been there. most of all, forgive and Love.
