Not Litterally but since illinois went non smoking business has really dropped. I really think that it should be up to the owners to decide weather or not smoking should be alowed. I went from making $150-$200 a night to making around $60. I can only imagine what it is doing to other businesses.

I live in Illinois too and I totally agree with you. These hard working people own there business and why should the goverment be able to tell them what can happen in there place of business that they own?I think it bull really, yes smoking is a choice and I feel as long as the owner is ok with, the so be it,because if I owned a bar or whatever,I would be pissed off with someone telling me I couldn't have this or that going in my bar which I own.

The non-smoking ban in NY hasnt lost business at all. Personally smoking is a choice, I think that people should be made to go outside as it is bad for other people to breathe in. I dont think smoking a cig is really a big deal. Esp when you are eating, what would you need to smoke for anyways, much less have to sit there and smell it being a non smoker while youre trying to eat. I live borderline, on NY and PA. I cant wait til PA passes this law. Esp for my daughter I cant stand going into places and just smelling cig smoke. Personally for me I think its one of the best things the government has ever done. I know it must hurt some businesses. I do know where I live in the NY part it hasnt hurt anything at all. Im sure it did at first but people realize that smoking isnt everything. Its been going on here for the last 4-5 years now. So were just used to it. I am sorry that you are losing out personally though.
