Most people use showers during bath, And some do use Bucket. But as per concern about wastage, Showers do more wastage and Bucket didn't do as much. So my question is that do you use showers or Bucket to bath.

I don't have any choice as I only have a shower room where I live. I use to love taking a long bath, but now I am more used to a quick shower, which is better for the environment because it saves water.

You must be living in a poorer country than I do because I haven't ever heard of anyone ever using a bucket for bathing. At least not since my parent's younger days and I am 51 and my mother is 73 years old. So do you use a bucket? I take showers most of the time but I also like to take a hot bubble bath now and then, just to relax and read a book. I take a shower about every second day and a bath about once a week. It would be pretty hard to shower with using a bucket and I don't think I would like to use one. How to get the shampoo out of my hair, would be my biggest concern.

Well, its not about poor country, Chrislotz, its about wasting Water, and may be now a days there's no shortage of water in your country but when it will be then you might have to think about taking bath using Bucket rather than Shower...Maybe you never heard about how to take bath using bucket thats why you are wondering that its a bit difficult task, but its not that difficult. Thanks for your Response,,, Have a nice Day...

Here in the Philippines, every average Filipino uses a bucket for bathing. It's like a tradition here and we conserve water through the usage of a pail and a bucket. Showering is an impractical way of bathing because it wastes money. Moreover, you can't control your water consumption if you use shower.

You are right in the sense that buckets usually dont waste much water but I use shower because I think it is easier to stand under the water than to lift the water and pour it over your body...what do you say

I think no more people use bucket for shower. Here we have a water heater and we like to take shower. At least it won't waste water as many as having a bath in the bath tub

I like to take a bath but not with buckets. Here we let some water run into the bathtub and then get in. I agree we are wasting too much water but our bathrooms are not set up for buckets. I also have a shower and use it if I am in a hurry to get a quick wash.

I see that many of your responder use a bucket to bath with which is interesting. Here in the United States we are encouraged to use water conserving shower heads and showers use less water then tubs. When I was a young girl and came to live with my grandmother were would heat the water in the stove and use a large tub to bath in. We all used the same water and the dirtiest person bathed last. This was some 50 years ago. some here say that they use showers but with the shortage of water in some places I'm sure that we might all learn to use buckets to bath someday. I turn the shower on as low as possible and get in and out as quickly as possible. I would like to have a shower handle that I can turn off and on while soaping up then turn on the water to rinse off.

The tub was a round tub about 3 ft across. We heated about 2 3 or 4 gallon buckets on the stove. When the water got hot we would pour it into the stove that was set beside the heating stove. You would set in it with your feet over the side. There were only 3 of us using the tub of water. WE only did this once a week unless we did some really dirty work. During the rest of the week we did a sponge bath. I really don't remember how it felt. It was what we had to do so we coped.

not very comfortable as compared to shower but, if you have no choice, like me before, have to do it! plus, It's not a waste since, you have limited amount of water that you can just pour in your body!

I have had bucket showers when there have been water shortages in Samoa. Even having a shower with the hose. It was the normal thing for families to have them readily available if they didn't have a built in shower in or outside the home.

It's a common practice here in the Philippines to take a bath using a bucket and dipper. I have both a shower and a bucket in my room. I usually take showers during hot days or summer days. It's more refreshing and enjoyable. I don't have a heater on my shower so during cold seasons, I use the bucket.

In terms of wastage I think a bathtub is the worst. I often use showers but sometimes the water pressure is so weak I have to resort to using a bucket.

I did used to use a bucket to bath when I was younger so my family can save money. I have a lot of brothers and sisters and our water bill used to be unnecessarily high. Now that we are older we(my parents)have set up a system in home that temporarily shuts off the water after 10 minutes of showering. It's a pain but it helps save water and lower monthly water bills.
@mnsrwt123 (2057)

Yup, we all should atleast conserve the water by this way. And side by side, its also save the monthly bill as you explain above... Thanks for your valuable response...

Here, we always use the shower, but whenever we're in any of our parents' hometowns located in the countryside, we have no choice but to use buckets. It is true, showers waste more water, but it's far much better to use shower because both your hands are free to clean yourself. Wheras with bucket, one of your hand holds the dipper.
@mnsrwt123 (2057)

Yeah, you are absolutely correct in that point that our hands are free so we can clean our self, but i also don't have any problem with bucket as only one hand is enough for me to clean my self...lol Keep posting!!! Good point...
