yah, there are some people like that, but not all. Like me, I'm able to give an advice on my friends even in online forums because i have experiences that related to their problems or sharing what I've read or learned from particular books and situation. I always posses myself to their situation so that i could really understand them. Listening and giving advice is not enough, you should also know how to understand.

Yes, it is. when you give your advice to others, you stand as a third person, but when you are in the same situation, you are yourself, can't see the whole picture; and the most likely people like to sort their own problems in the familiar way.
