Fluffy or short haired, which do you prefer?

Do you like them fluffy or short haired. For me, a fluffy cat is adorable so so much touble to look after the fur, it gets everywhere doesn't it, on upholstery and the rug and clothes? Don't even go there! But do short haired breeds have the same appeal. Maybe you have one of my each. My last cat was short haired but I'm currently without one. Maybe the next one should be fluffy? Is yours fluffy? Please tell me how you cope with all that fluff.

i have a fluffy cat and a short haired cat, and the short haired cat sheds way more than the fluffy one. if you run your hand over her, it comes back full of hair, but not with the other one. they both have such different personalities, i don't think it matters which length of hair they have.

This does not seem to be the kind of polarising issue for cat owners I thought it might be. Its interesting to know about the shedding though because this will definitely affect any future choice of kitten I might make.

I like them short-haired. There is less shedding. We have two cats. One is short-haired, and the other has slightly longer hair.

Thanks for sharing that. The ones that look good in photos are the crazy fluffy litle kittens bit I prefer a short haired cat in an adult. Much easier to groom and as you say, less shedding.

Of our 4 cats, one is long haired. He is a Turkish Angora. All cats shed. I prefer short haired cats because I get less fur in my nose. None were selected on the basis of fur length; they were just the ones who needed homes.
