We should try to do things idependently, rather than passively wait for help. Do all mylloters think our schools discourage us from thinking idependently? How can we become more idependent?

I've answered a discussion similar to this one before i believe.. And my thoughts on this statement although its not exactly what your asking.. is that Why would you need god to help you if you already helped yourself, he's not helping you, You did it yourself!! It is a nonsensical statement!

I kinda agree with you here but... I think God might've put these things in front of you. I'm not the biggest believer in God, but I heard once, We always argue God doesn't answers our prayers but perhaps that's his way of answering them.

He answers them by not answering them ? like.. letting ourselves figure it out on our own ? .. If that's what you mean then i have to argue that he's not helping at all still, he never did anything, so we'd come to the same conclusion with or without him! I'm not trying to pick a fight with you by the way.. just letting my opinion out into the open.

Well, for me, this is the definition of education... Students should be taught how to make things and how to think things by themselves. I think school nowadays is on a good trend (from this point of view) but only that it's too slow. Students should be very much involved in the discovery process, creation, or actually building something. This is how self-confidence and true human value is reached. We are more and more independent, but the education must go further this way.
