Mork and Mindy from happy Days was quite amusing once in a while

Of course it was a spin off - Mork tried to kidnap Richie Cunnigham in one episode. The character proved so popular that he was gien his own show

Definately "Frasier". Not only a great show in it's own right, but it far surpasses it's "parent show" "Cheers" (although to be fair, I never really liked "Cheers" that much). I always try to catch it whenever it's on. It seems to me it's not remembered/talked about as much as other 90's sitcoms like "Seinfeld" or "Friends". It's a shame. A great show.

There have been so many spin-offs it's hard to pick a favorite. Happy Days spawned Laverne and Shirley, Mork & Mindy and the less successful Joanie Loves Chachi. From All in the Family came Maude and The Jeffersons. You mentioned Joey and Frazier, which I must admit I'm surprised Joey didn't do better in the ratings. Dallas led to Knot's Landing, which ran for many years. Many probably either have forgotten or are too young to remember MASH spin-off Trapper John, M.D. which was a source of amusement to me because I couldn't picture Wayne Rogers aging to look like Pernell Roberts! I'm sure there have been more that I'm forgetting right now but if I had to choose a favorite I'd say for comedies mine would be Laverne and Shirley and for dramas it would be Knot's Landing. I guess the Grey's Anatomy spin-off isn't doing to well, is it? Unfortunately, I haven't seen either. I'm not overlooking the CSI and Law & Order series, but I'm not sure if they count as spin-offs or just versions of the same franchises.
