It's 3 am and the Red Phone is Ringing....

“Clinton hasn’t had to answer the phone at three o’clock in the morning and yet she attacked Barack Obama for not being ready,'’ Ms. Rice said. “They’re both not ready to have that 3 a.m. phone call.” Did we really hear Obama's Foreign Policy guru (Susan Rice) tell us all that neither Democrat candidate is ready to be president? If you're not ready to answer that call, you shouldn't put yourself in a position where you will have to.

Yes, but it is the thought that counts. A 3 am phone during a campaign is a concept, whereas a 3 am phone call when you are president is the reality. Neither of those 2 have the experience to answer that call. One is a first term senator, and the other has been known to throw ashtrays in fits of anger. As much as I dislike McCain, he is definitely the least of three evils, and at least he isn't claiming want to raise taxes or the whole universal health care bit which no one will be able to afford. His stance on the environment and man made global warming is in error, and he is not nearly as strong of a leader as Bush is. I consider him to be a liberal posing as a republican, but better than the two liberals who are currently duking it out.

Yup, the question at this point is, "which Democrat will win". One of them that have a D after their name? Or the one with an R after his.

"His stance on the environment and man made global warming is in error, and he is not nearly as strong of a leader as Bush is." Say WHAT?? He's not as strong a leader as Bush? My cat would be a stronger leader than Bush! Annie

Could the policies of you "cat" bring the US out of a recession and help bring free elections to millions? Your blind hatred for Bush is clouding your judgement, Annie. Even most of Clintons staunchest enemies supported him on some things.

Was Reagan ready to answer that call? Were either of the Bushes ready? Just because McCain was a POW and is considered a war hero, how does that make him more qualified and "ready" to take that call? I believe either Obama or Clinton will be ready if and when that call comes. As for McCain, I don't trust a thing he says, but I know that's just my opinion. Annie

Actually anniepa, Reagan WAS ready to answer that call, and he had the Iranian Hostage Crisis to deal with right out of the gate. He is also the one who ended the Cold War by outspending the USSR, and through the much maligned Strategic Defense Initiative that the liberals laughingly called Star Wars. They may have thought it was funny, but the Soviets did not. Both Bushes did have to answer that call as we ALL well know. Perhaps if Billy Boy would have done a better job and took out bin Laden when the chance presented itself then we may not have been attacked on 9-11, especially since bin Laden was the mastermind behind that attack. Hillary and Obama are NOT ready to answer that call, and neither one of them have any business in the White House.

..I worry about folks not believing it could happen.. the "terrorists are just freedom fighters" type thinking.. 'Cuz by time that phone rings, it could be too late... And that seems to me like the PC approach right now.. terrorism grows, they did fail to knock down the WTC the first time (in 93*) and came back to accomplish it.. they didn't succeed in taking out washington d.c. on 911 (flight *93), and no one seems to think they'll make a big try again. Terrorism grows, while George Bush is the world's evil seen to make war against, so the liberal press has continually vilified him and conservatives, no matter what it does to other's opinions of us.. Let the terrorists grow and feed the fuel at the same time, does not sound like sound strategy to me.. Course our "enemies wouldn't make entrance to our country" and won't "overrun our land" (per bible promises) if we weren't piling up all that great karma by our highly inhumane and barbaric means (in this highly technological day) of 'birth control', the terminating of babies in the womb, which is so sacred to the PC's.

Exactly! Abortion has killed more than terrorism, and the far left embraces both.

Ummm I don't think ANYONE is ready for that call. Either way Obama is way better than Clinton. And god forbid McCain winning, that guy is nothing but a new world order puppet. and Hillary is for a fascist world government. Obama is secretly influenced by groups like the CFR but I don't think he directly supports world government. The thing is I'd settle for Obama , but Clinton and McCain are horrible.

I am not sure anyone is actually ready to answer the phone at 3 AM. I think it is more of a question of who will not only answer that phone, but be able to make a decision quickly and correctly. Does Hillary have more experience? Yes. No one can argue that. But does she have the sound mind to make the tough decisions? I don't think we can honestly answer that. Granted, I would give her a little more benefit of the doubt for the fact that she spent 8 yrs in a position where she was married to the guy who did have to make those decisions.

Oops... sorry I misread that, so if she pursued a career as a paramedic, do you think her being married to you would be a benefit to her?

Of course not, but should you choose to attempt to become a paramedic, do you think her experience would help you in your endevours?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this discussion! Poor Barack, between his wife and his "TEAM", LOL, maybe we won't have to worry about him answering the phone. I do agree with Ms Rice though, neither of them would be ready for that call, and I am really not sure if McCain would be, but at least he does have military experience, and will know how to put together a top military advisory board. Thanks for sharing this ParaTed, I am getting used to having my daily Democratic guffaw laugh.

I'm wondering, given Bush's reputation for 'sillyness' whether he was ready to take the call or whether his advisors gave him the ability and knowhow to take the call. Which, if that is the case, makes this political discussion irrelevant. Both Obama and Hilary will be no different to any other president. Or hopefully they will be!

Stupidity is contageous, so please don't sneeze on me. Have you ever had an actual thought in your life? Or are you content just repeating the swill forced on you by discredited liars like Michael Moore and Cindy Whatsitsname? Get a brain and learn to think for yourself, moron!
