Have you ever worked in a library?

I volunteered in the school library during my senior year. I really enjoyed it. Did you ever work in one? If you did, how long did you work there, and did you like it?

Yes, I worked in the public library for over a year beginning my senior year of high school. I shelved books and worked the children's desk. I loved the job,but quit when I started college. I would like to work there again, but the pay isn't the greatest.
I have thought about studying to be a librarian.

I have never worked in a library. I like reading and everything, but that's just not my thing. I'd rather work in a bookstore where they are a bit more lax about things and are not too concerned about labeling books and putting them back in the exact spots and what not.

I got the library bug when I was working as a sub teacher aid. Sometimes I got the chance to work in the library at a few of the elementary schools around where I lived. I loved it. I just felt at home.
When I moved, I was lucky enough to find a job with the library association here in Pittsburgh. I am the manager of a library/learning center in my neighborhood. I am getting a promotion soon too. We are starting a new mobile literacy program and I will be working full time now.
I am able to still go to school too. What is really cool is that the library association will pay for part of my tuition for my masters in library science. wooohooo!
