How many dogs out there have Hip Displacement

Hey everyone. I have a black lab with hip displacement. I was wondering how many dogs are out there with that same hip displacement. I was also wondering if anyone knew of anything other than surguery that can be done to help the dog. Thanks a bunch,

I'm not sure, but I know that my Saint Bernard had that when I was a kid. I have always heard it is common with bigger breeds. I have never heard about anything other than surgery, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a treatment now.
