I'm planning on going on an EF college break tour this summer (2008) but the problem is i'll be 17 for the first half of the trip. The trip says it's for 18-35 year olds, but does anyone know if there's anyway to get around that? I'm going to be traveling with a friend who will be 18, so can he sign on to be my guardian or something? help me!!...please.

I think that because you turn 18 during the trip then you should be able to get around the rules. Alternatively they might require one of your parents to sign the form. Your friend of 18 probably wouldn't be able to act as your guardian. I went to the Netherlands with a friend when I was 17. We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam. When I was 18 I worked as a children's nanny in Finland and then traveled around Europe by train. You would be quite safe to go in the 18 to 35 group. Good luck getting approved to go and I hope that you will go and have a wonderful time.

Hey thx everyone who replied to this. I thought I might give you all some closure on the trip. I called EF, and no matter what I tried, they wouldnt let me go unless i turned 18 before the trip :( but o well, i'm gonna try to go over to europe and do my own thing, so it's all good.

I am sorry that they wouldn't accept you for the 18 to 35 trip. I am pleased that you still want to plan a trip around Europe. This is a wonderful idea. Thanks for the best response.

Yuo can ask EF if they allow it, you will turn 18 anyway. Probably they can give a solution for you. I have a cousin who went to EF trip when she was 17 years old tho.. You will also have a guardian there anyway (foster parent).
