Environmental technology can make a difference for everyone on the planet. Their is some interesting research being done at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on how to make photovoltaic solar cells more efficient. Former Engineers in the Telecom industry, now working as professors at University, have created a technique to produce "nanowires" in the silicon when the engineers are producing solar cells. These "nanowires" look like human hairs when viewed under very powerful microscopes. The "nanowires" offer more surface area and can trap more light to convert to energy. It's a tough question. Every job can make a difference only if you devote in it. As for me, I prefer the job that I love and can make good profit from it although it is hard to balance love and benefit.
