I can't help but be curious as to why boxer, Floyd "Money" Mayweather took the challenge to wrestle the Big Show at Wrestlemania. Even if you take under consideration the fact that much of it is fake, there is still the potential for his being injured during the match. They say he is getting $20 million for the effoert but I don't see where it is worth it. I'd like to know your opinion on this matter.

I don't care for Wrestlemania but do follow boxing. I think this match is all about money. Mayweather is a good boxer and he should be ok. Wrestling is fake and doubt very seriously if this match will be a risk to his career. They'll protect each other and I wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather wins the match.

People are so quick to say wrestling is all fake, carolbee, but many of them really do receive some serious injuries. It's just hard for me to understand a major boxer doing such a thing.

While it is classified as "sports entertainment, Marcola, I still get emotional when I watch the matches. I have found an excellent source to keep up with all the latest on wrestling via aaa.about.com.

True, fake is a term used to describe wrestling by people who know nothing about it. It is so early '90s. Can you imagine how a wrestler would react to being asked "Is wrestling fake?" Predetermined and scripted are the words that should be used, but yeah, accidents do happen. Stone Cold took a piledriver from Owen Hart that shortened his career. DDP had to step away from wrestling for sometime when he got injured in a match with Hardcore Holly. Also, Darren Drozdov could never wrestle again after a match with D-Lo Brown. Do a search for these videos. Also, Vince McMahon has stated they're not a legit sport, but sports entertainment.

If that figure is legit-yes, it's worth it. This whole angle has brought the WWE plenty of publicity and Mayweather, like Kevin Federline before him, have no problem getting people to hate them. They're natural heels. It will be interesting to see what happens at Wrestlemania.

I only wish I had the means to see it, Marcola! And don't leave Big Show out because he qualifies as an a$$hole too.

I think it is to increase ratings and I think Mayweather agreed because of the money. However, I do think that the injury last night was real as he sure looked to be in pain and with the way he landed on it, I am sure that it was a real injury. I hope that this is worth it to him.

Yes, carolscash, I would hate to see him sustain a career-ending injury.

It's all to draw more attention to the show. Their ratings have started declining again so they are trying to bring in another "sport" hero to play the bad guy. Kinda like the thing with Goldberg and a few others they have done over the years. According to tonight's show though, Mayweather was supposedly injured so I don't know how they think it will go over for the pay per view. Of course this is most likely just another part of the storyline.

Good points, miller. There is no way that I can see a major boxing champ like Mayweather risking life and limb in such a venture.
