It probably requires adjustment with alignment. Or it is also possible that the clutch plates have wear and tear and requires replacement. Also if many people are using the car (within the family or outside) there are chances people are applying the clutch with varying pressures, thereby causing the clutch plate to wear and tear faster than normal period. Also if the driver keeps his leg most of the time on the clutch, it could damage the plates. This is what I learnt from my practice rather than going by theoretical or expert advise. May be I am wrong, may be I am partially right or may be I have given perfect clue.
