Repeats?!?!

So, in recent years I have really noticed a repeat in movies. A lot of the movies we see today are repeats or "remakes" of older movies. Not only are some of these movies repeated once...but there are some repeated twice, three times etc. I guess what i am getting at is how much longer can movie making go on being original? There are some here and there that are out of this world original, but then there are a lot of movies out there with the same concept...but different characters, locations, etc. I'm not saying I am have some great ideas, I just wish those writeers would start coming up with some.

If a movie is a blockbuster, writers will go at it again using as you stated "different characters, locations, etc" with the same plot. They probably feel it will generate money again and it is what people want to see. I would love to be a screen writer but haven't made the effort or time to write something creative! It would be so exciting to have something in print come alive on the screen.
