What type of pictures you would prefer to keep in your desktop background?

I like scenery more than anything else, and I hardly like changing it every now and then.. My desktop background was sent by my friend. He is into photography and uses a Digital SLR camera to take pictures. He took a picture of the evening sky and that was what I am using on my PC right now.. But I find that despite having a desktop background, it is essential not to have too many desktop icons as it will spoil the image..
