Hi there! When I got married, gave birth to our son and stayed at home for years, I felt that my writing skills were lessened. What I did is read lots of really good written books, different genres and poetry too. I also practiced by blogging first then writing poems. Well, my writing now is not in its best but it got better. I think that you should just look for inspirations and practice.

I believe in the saying that "practice makes perfect". All your knowledge are put into waste when you don't put them into use. Practice your writing so that you can sharpen it, point out your errors so that you could write better. This saying is one of my inspirations. I put into practice what I learn so I can add them to my experience and I will improve. Reading novels, books and random articles widen your vocabulary so it is also a big help in writing because you have so many a stock of words. Like in war, you already have your weapons and you are ready to fight.

It's important to having a good teacher. You know, to most of working people, they often have not time to take course. Practice should be in right way, I think.

Reader's Digest - The only magazine that includes multiple topics.
My college professor who taught Effective and Creative Writing always advised her students to read for style. Observe carefully how a sentence is written. The best magazine for you to refer to is Reader's Digest because it includes many different subjects that are of interest to many different people unlike other mags that include limited write ups like travel mags and stuff like that.
