No, not really, because the British just dont have a clue how to barbecue. It always ends up with the food burned black and tasting of lighter fluid. People never start the fire early enough nor understand the process, so the charcoal is still too active and flares up with smoke and flames everywhere from dripping fat. Maybe with our weather we dont get enough practice. I'd rather pre-cook the food and just finish it off lightly on the barbecue which I always light way in advance.

In Texas BBQ is not just out door cooking, it is a Major food group. It is not just grilling over charcoal, but smoking with hard woods. Hickory, mesquite and pecan are the best to use. starting the fire early then adding wood chips that have been soaked in water really adds to the flavor. Slow cooking and adding the sauce at the right time help prevent burning. Marinading the meat is also very important. Marinades are like sauces, everyone has their own recipe. It is also a good way for families to spend time outdoors together.
Good BBQ is a way of life here all year round.

I do like BBQ. It tastes great, especially chicken, ribs, and steak. I like to add a bit of BBQ sauce to the meat while its cooking, only on ribs or chicken though, I would never ruin the BBQ flavor of a good steak with BBQ sauce! :-)

I eat a lot of BBQ. I use it on a lot of meats and even dip my french fries into BBQ.

Yeah I love barbecues. I havent been to one in a long time the last time I went to one was at a family gathering on 4t of july a few years ago. I remember it because it was over 100 degrees that day very hot and we had to go to maine straight afterwards since we go to maine on the weekends and 4th of july fell on a saturday that year. But I hope to have a barbecue this summer at our house.

Hello Alex,
Yeah, I like to eat barbecue, as it taste good. But I seldom eat barbecue, only on times I can go out for dinner with friends or family. I am so lazy with going out especially during night so I would just prefer to cook my own food.
I don't know how to cook barbecue and whenever I want to eat some, I just bought it.
