I use Indonesian as my native tongue. I mostly write in English. I'm still learning Chinese language so far. I was raised in a Hokkianese environment and understand what they say, but mostly I still answer in Indonesian (since this environment is in Indonesia). :)
back then our high school had Japanese language as one of foreign language curriculum. but I have forgotten most of the Japanese vocabularies and their written characters / words.
so I still prefer to say, I speak mainly in Indonesian, write mainly in English, interact with some Hokkianese native speakers, try to learn Chinese as as a newbie,
but still ... would rather speak in Indonesian, because it is my native tongue. LOL. :P

hello, Saudara serumpun bahasa ^^
I heard that more Malaysian people understand Bahasa Indonesian better than Indonesian people understand Malaysian language, I don't know the reality though, because sometimes I understood what I read from Malaysian bloggers' posts but sometimes I couldn't understand half part of the posts.
how about you?
oh yeah, nice to meet you here. :)

I must admit that many Malaysians prefer to watch Indon' Sinetrons rather than Malay Dramas. I think our malay language is much easier than bahasa indonesia, and sometimes I couldn't understand some indon words since many words from the language was adapted from javanese language if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong. Hehe, and you know, Indon bands are so popular in my country.. my fav is Gigi...but many gals love peterpan, ungu, dewa, dan seumpamanya. And in Johore, we receive Singapore TVs and some Indon channels signal.

Apart from a little Kiswahili and a very little French I know only English, fortunately this means most countries I can be understood in. I am always amazed by the truly amazing linguistic ability of Africans, for some reason, cultural or genetic they seem to pick up languages so well.

Oh, by the way, English has a vast and immense vocabulary lending it an unsurpassed subtlety and accuracy of expression. It is not unusual for a graduate of a UK university to have a personal vocabulary greater than the total vocabulary of some languages. Oh, and I know the adjective order in Portuguese is the reverse of English.

I am of mixed Scots and English descent. I know a little of Indian culture, certainly it is a rich one and has contributed much to the world.

so what is your race urban? are you mixed? but what do you think about Indian people? I'm really amazed with them, I think most of them know many languages and they are quite fluent in English too.

I can speak six languages. But I am forgetting one now since it's been long time I don't chance to speak that language. In fact, there was one more I could speak when I was young, but now I have totally forgotten since it's been over 15 years that I last spoke. But I somehow understand when people converse... can't speak though!

I must admit again, that Indian people are really good in language matters, even Indian in my country, most of them are lawyers and doctors. And most of them also are English teachers. Indeed, you are unique race. Any tips? hehe
