I was answering a discussion question when one of my connections asked me if I remembered to take my meds, now this was a very nice gesture on her part and she asked because I made a post about it at an earlier time. But it got me to thinking, how we post so much personal stuff on mylot, does it concern you about posting personal stuff, obviously it doesn't for me or I would not post. I am a writer and my life is an open book, I love to share with people.

I think that telling others what we call our privacy is easy to do here on mylot. I think what makes it easier is that most are total strangers and never likely to meet up in a street anywhere and say hey it's you and so on. Have a good might of posting.

Hi Rose I have to agree with you, my life is an open book and so I don't try to hid or even think of hiding my thoughts ideas and dreams.

I don't worry about it too much. I don't give out my social security number or finding address either though.

I think the longer we are active in a forum the more we share some personal information. In a way it is inevitable, otherwise we could only reply to a limited number of conversations. I am concerned at times with the amount of personal information some people post, in particular about their children and families. If an evil stalker were on Mylot, over time he/she could find a whole lot of information about a person, in particular if they also had a link to their website with their profile. As for myself, I am not too concerned, I am somewhat guarded in what I reveal. I also am an older person living in a huge metropolis and don't think I would be the target of a stalker.

Well, I wouldn't post my social security number or anything that was important like that. But other personal stuff doesn't bother me to post on mylot. If I wasn't comfortable with it I wouldn't be posting it. I love people and I like to share with people.

No notreally I guess I am a very trusting person and sometimes have been take advantage of but I really have nothing to hide.So far all the people I have met seem to be just great people going about their lives and taking care of their families and sharing their ups and downs with all of us.

I am concerned with some of my privacy in Mylot. I post alot of things here also but if it is too personal, I won't. I am that way in my real life also. I am very private most of the time because people like to take your information and judge you or run with it.

Sure, of course! I care a lot about privacy. I share things but nothing too personal. I think one would feel too naked if everything about oneself is shared freely. Besides, you don't know when someone might just decide to make use of what you have so selflessly shared against you. That would not be too neat. =P

I may share with mylot friends here but there is a limit to what I share. I respect my own privacy as well as people's privacy. I do not share too personal stuffs and do not partake in such discussions.

I am careful what I share online. Unless you are giving out addresses, phone numbers and full names, I really don't see any harm. I did give tell someone the name of the store I worked at once and one day at work I got a call from that person. They had looked up the phone number in the white pages online. That was kind of scary.
