People are just people...

I was just standing outside and reflecting on life. When I was younger I was intimidated by some people. I thought all teachers were smart. I was afraid of all policemen and held them in high esteem. I was a little intimidated by politicians. I thought these people were somehow different from me. I thought for some reason the rich were superior somehow because they had money. Oh how wrong I was. People are people and basically we are all the same. No one is better than anyone else, just different.

We have source energy in common but we are none of us the same. Phuck, I'm not even the same person from one day to the next. Every day I grow in some direction and am no longer viewing the world from the same perspective. Some people do a lot of stuff better than me so in that arena they are better than me. I try not to take that personally.
Additionally, I was 'born with a silver spoon in my mouth', I'm smarter than most, more adventurous than many, and with the body and soul of a cosmic dancer, I've got 4 or 5 planets in Aries (most of them on the Pisces cusp), in the Chinese Horoscope I am a Dragon... it's pretty difficult for me to feel humble.
I think I'm one of those people that intimidates others. The cop who lives next door to me thought I was almost 6 feet tall! That made me laugh.
But I understand where you're coming from with what you said. You can't really do anything else but be who you are, and how could that be wrong?

I think that yes people with a lot of self confidence used to intimidate me too. My hubby is like that he is full of self confidence and I'm not, I was in awe of him and thought that he was better than me, until I got to know him and realized that he just had self confidence that I lacked. I think self confidence is a great and powerful tool. You are lucky to be one of the ones that has it.

Self-confidence is nothing more than loving your self absolutely and not giving a damn what anybody else thinks of you or what you're doing. It can be cultivated and is worth the effort. Nothing is better for your self-confidence than a huge dose of careless disregard for what other people think. I highly recommend it.

I am with you. I like the last line, "No one is better than anyone else, just different." It's true, people are just in different situations but it's up to us to make the most out of what situation we got. Part of that is choosing to do good and be pleasing to God. That makes the big difference.

How true it is when you say that people are people just different, no one is any better than anyone else. I too remember having the same feelings when I was younger, you were taught to look up to certain people, like policemen, never to lie etc. etc. And then of course you grow up and see that life isn't quite so black and white.
If anyone makes out they are bigger and better than me I just remember that they have to eat, drink and go to bathroom just like everyone else. They don't look half as powerful then!
