Do you play online poker to make extra cash?

My boyfriend does using Full Tilt Poker. He starts at one of the free buy in games, that only costs some of your play chips. The 1st place winner gets $15, and from there he takes that $15 to play other cash games.

I just checked out this site and I don't see where it says any of that. I see that you can use your points toward merchandise but nothing abot using them for cash. Maybe I was on the wrong site. What is the link?

you have to download the poker program. Its just like poker stars, absolute poker or party poker. It is a program that is run off your computer, you play other people that are online, usually for points or play chips, but you can also play for real cash. You have to go into the tournaments in order to do it, and enter the Free Roll tournaments for your country. There are maybe 2 or 3 every couple of hours and you have to be really quick in registering to the games as the rooms fill up fast. You can also deposit money into the site, and use that to play against other players in cash games.

Well if your good enough. My boyfriend hasn't won anything online, but he has at his local monday night tournaments. Its a no gambling thing he goes to, 1st place winner gets $25 cash and $25 gift certificate to the bar they go to. The Full Tilt site is mentioned on TV all the time, so yes you can win, but you have to be good enough.

I use real money on Full Tilt and Poker Stars. I prefer to be in a real life casino, but online is fun and it keeps my skills sharp. Playing online is completely different than playing in real life. I have a question for you, though. What is the buy-in at the tournament he plays in on Monday nights if the prize is only $50? Those are really really low stakes, which makes people play very differently. Same thing with those free chips in online poker, or any low stake game. People play very lose. So, even though your boyfriend does well at these low stake games and the free chip games, he must be very very VERY careful once he moves up to higher.
