I wore a long formal wedding gown - with a train - the train had inset lace around it - and sequins - the back had silk covered round buttons going from neck to just below the waste - there was a modest bow at that point and the train was able to be hooked underneath the bow. the bodice was sequined and pearled.... the sleeves had a slight puff to them, nothing over bearing and they also had the same inset lace as the train. the dress was mostly satiny. I wore satin balerina style slippers and a derby for a head cover - the derby had a finger tip length veil. my groom wore a sleek grey tux with tails - there was a bit of a sheen to the suit. a friend made us bibs for the reception the bibs matched our attire - and our mothers put them around our necks. it was a laughable moment.

Me and My Dad - Taken before I was about to walk into the church.

It's hard to see the Samoan Tatau design but that's how it looked! Simple but different :)
Wow Modestah your wedding dress sounds sooo beautiful with all the intricate details. I like the bibs part:) that is too cute! As for my dress, mine was made with traditional samoan material, with a cream-on-cream patterned Samoan tatau design on it. It had a train that you could gather up and hook at the back so it looked like a simple skirt which was great when it came to reception time. It was a two peice, simple dress design which I loved, especially because my Aunty made it (very well sewn and put together) and then I just added a veil, wore simple low cream open toe heels and added a necklace and earings to go with it. I still have it in my cupboard but cannot fit it anymore LOL My husband rented a simple black Japanese collar suit with a white shirt and cream on cream vest.

Us on our wedding day! - Me and my husband Matt :)
Thank you Modestah The design is actually screen printed on so I was surprised that it hasn't faded or peeled away since I had it made in 2001. I think they put on either extra coating or some special chemical to keep it intact. I really think its because of the material which holds the print well (if that makes any sense).

My 1st wedding to my hubby - wedding
My very first wedding to my husband was a very quiet affair. The dress was rented, but very nice. My 2nd wedding, not very notable, done at the courthouse and my third, to my current husband, done at the courthouse. I have attached a picture of my first wedding when I was 19. It was a cute dress, but not something I would have chosen for myself had I the choice hahaha!I bet you can tell that my parents weren't all that happy with my choice to marry so young hahaha!

I had a fine, pure wool, cream, mini dress with long cuffed sleeves and a stand up collar. There was also a wide scarf in the same fabric that wrapped around my neck and was attached with a pearl brooch. I didn't wear anything on my head. My shoes were white patent leather with cut outs. I have no idea what my husband wore or what flowers I carried.
