travel-do you enjoy it?

My last trip was leaving England where i'd been living for the last 6 years, and spending 6 months or so traveling around Europe and America with my family. We visited nearly all of Western Europe for four and a half months, then drove across America (Washington DC - San Fransisco) in 1.5 months. Amazing experience!

Yes, I really love to travel. My last trip overseas was to to Portugal. It was my baby son's first holiday abroad. He was four months old in September last year. We flew to the airport and stayed nearby for the first couple of nights. Then we took a train over to the pretty town of Lagos. I liked spending time on the golden sandy beaches, doing so cliff walks and visiting a light house. Next we took a train to the capital city, Lisbon. I really liked the historical streets, the old buildings, nice architecture and beautiful views from the stunning looking castle. I so enjoyed riding on the trams and we took one out an interesting seaside tower. At night the castle looked gorgeous all lit up. Lastly we took a train back to the coast and stayed in a very pleasant town called Tavira. I liked visiting some of the old churches and the castle walls with a beautiful little garden inside them. Since then I have taken my baby son on another trip in my home country. We went to the Northumberland coast. I stayed in a pretty village called Seahouses. I liked visiting an amazing garden with tree houses and an old castle with a view of the sea. We went on a boat trip to the Farne Islands and much wildlife. The area is known for its puffins, seals and sea birds. This summer we are going to fly to Riga in Latvia.

The last vacation I had was when I went to Bali, Indonesia, end August this year. I went with my family. Lovely place, really enjoyed it and it's nice to be able to go sightseeing more, instead of just shopping and minimal sightseeing.

Last trip I was on was to Las Vegas, Laughlin and Lake Havasu. It was 2 years ago. I went with my parents and my cousin. I just broke up with my boyfriend of 5 years so I was ready to party and forget about him. I had a blast. I'm heading back there again with my new boyfriend and parents and my aunt and uncle. Ready for another great time.

I absolutely love travelling. I have visited around 34 countries, and have lived in several different countries. When I first started travelling it was with my parents or with my friends and their parents - travelling around Europe. Then as I got older I could travel on my own, again with close friends usually for a couple of weeks in the sun (being from the UK, anywhere else other than the UK was going to a sunny place!) Then I started getting adventurous and travelled all over the world, with or without friends. I loved it! I suppose my last long trip was with a friend and we went to Russia, Mongolia, China, Tibet and Nepal in about 6 weeks. It was fantastic - about 7 years ago now. Then I went to live in Costa Rica for a year as part of my degree (learning Spanish and studying the Environment). Then I moved to Spain to live with my boyfriend and now we are living in the DR. Hope to keep my feet on the ground for a while longer before we go off exploring again!
