I have psp and nintendo ds but for me the best is psp because I like more aesthetically, it is sony, you can see films, hear songs, photography and more, the only bad thing is that there are few psp games instead for nintendo ds there are many.
You say that?

i f you like hardcore games, stick to psp. but if you likie gameboy-style and other light games, nds is for you. it's like PS3 vs Wii

I bought my daughter a DS. She never wanted a PSP. I think as far as just a device to play games on then the DS is better. If you want it for more than just games then get a PSP.

I don't have a psp but that's because I could only buy one and I got the ds because of the touch screen also I could play my old gameboy games on it.
I'm not too bothered about watching films, hearing songs etc. I just like gaming too much.

It is and sets the ds apart from all the other hand helds. If I had the money I'd get a psp as well though.

I have both but play my psp more the past couple months. Besides you can have a DS emulator on PSPs now.

I don't have a PSP mainly because I never saw a reason to purchase one. Sure there are games I'd like to play, but that number may be only 5-7. I do own a DS and my collection is already up to 35. I enjoy that fact that there is a wide variety to play from simple games to some indepth stuff. I don't think I'll ever pick up a PSP, but I may borrow one from a friend because I just don't want to pay for something I probably won't play that often.
