Friending on Mylot

Having friends on MyLot, is it important? I am thinking i should friend the people that are making awesome quality posts that I admire, but not sure if it is worth it. What is the benefit? What is the "netiquette" for friending on MyLot? Do you ask the person first or do you just friend them? I ask because I have no friends yet on MyLot, but there are a couple of posters here that I do admire, and would like to know what the accepted way of doing things is.

I'm also new but I think that just like in the real world, networking on here will pay off. After all, like the poster above me put it...friends like to help friends (even if we're all just online friends scrambling for a few extra cents haha). I got a few friend requests and accepted them...I think adding people you feel give quality responses is a good idea and I'll probably take that advice for myself as well!

yes I think it is important, I put the notifyer on all my friends so that when they start a discussion it gets sent to me in an email, I like to help my friends as much as possible, I think that is the whole idea of it...
