Surely I can come up with a new tag for a discussion!

Okay, now I'm irritated. I've responded to tons of discussions today. I have come up with tag after tag, gotten downright ridiculous at times and haven't had one added on when my discussion posted. Surely all these tags cannot be in use already and even if they are, not for this particular discussion. Something is wrong with the latest update on here I think. Stuff isn't working particularly right at times.
Just a rant.

Only 5 tags will post to a discussion. I think that is the problem, as they aren't always the best 5. Its the one area I really want to see Mylot change now.

Well, I had no idea. If this is in the guidelines, I guess I was zoning when I read them.

As others have already said the system only allows for 5 tags to be added. I do know that many members, myself included, will add 5 tags at the time we post the discussion. Many members started doing this last year when someone was going around posting tags to discussions that were 'unacceptable' down right nasty. By adding the 5 from the start it keeps someone from doing it again.

I haven't seen it happen in awhile but I know back when it was a big problem people were putting nasty tags on very serious or 'clean' discussions.

Like someone else has already responded on here, you are only allowed to have 5 tags show at any one time here. It could be that the tags you are using are less known ones and not as popular as the ones listed, but I bet at the same time if up in the search area you were to search for discussions with that Tag some of those discussions, would then be listed. Just my thoughts.

ON the tags if alot of people have responded then most of the tags have been used and they really use about 5 of them.
So mostly I skip the tag deal just hit skip putting a tag on dont make ya amything I dont think it just moves ya on and thats why I do the skip most of the time hope this helps ya.

It does help knowing about the five tags. I tried being creative and still got nothing until someone mentioned five being the limit. Just wish I had known sooner, I was putting some time in thinking of new stuff. And we don't make anything if our tag is accepted huh? Well!

It isn't because the tag you add is already in use or is already on the discussion. It is because there are already enough tags on the discussion and it isn't accepting anymore. I know it shouldn't ask for a tag if there is no more room for one, but I guess that would take another program for mylot to install, for it to not ask for one. I don't bother with tags anymore except when I see the discussion doesn't have any, then I will add a few. And I do see a lot of discussions that don't have any tags at all, from some of my friends.

I have noticed this tagging problem for a long time. I finally quit tagging discussions that other members start. I tag my original discussion and leave it at that. Was wasting time and energy tagging all the time and the tags, as you mention, never appeared on the discussion. I gave up!
