Latest upgrades are decent, don't you think? I like the emoticons. Of course, I'm a smarta**, so I tried putting in the code for some other ems I know.... didn't work. Varying the type is nice, too. I can see why they might not want to give us a full-blown customizing, but it would be nice if they could upgrade they script to display different fonts, etc, that we copy and paste from our WP software (Word, or whatever.) It would be limited to the 500+ gang, so it shouldn't be too burdensome. Personally, I like different colors, too. Maybe in the future!

ok I am about to try again! lol I have tried 3 times so far but it seems as though we can respond again! I like the emoticons and notification upgrades but your idea about coloured writing is the best - I wanna write in pink and I wanna do it now! lol xx

I never was that good at being patient Mooch but I will try! I agree that I would rather see things running smoothly first too - the last couple of days have been so irritating! lol Can you imagine the rainbow effect if we all got to choose our own colours, background, fonts etc - we would have rainbows in opur discussions, so cool! xxxx

Hello Gardengrrl, Funny you should ask. As I was first using the new features, I thought to myself that I was really glad that they didn't add color. I've been on other forums where emoticons are overused, to the frustration of many. And, especially where every color of the rainbow is applied in a single application. Including yellow, which cannot be read against a white backdrop. As for different fonts: I would guess that this has more to do with HTML than MyLot. For example: HTML's first version only recognized two fonts -- Times New Roman and Aerial. HTML version four recognized more, though was still seriously shy from universal font recognition. My guess is that programmers recognize that it would be counter-productive to make HTML fully capable of Optimal Character Recognition. Imagine trying to read "Winddings", "Symbols" or "Baby Kruffy" fonts, in a text application? All in all, I'd say that regarding this particular upgrade, less is better. While I'm still waiting for an "edit" feature, where we can add (not alter) details of a discussion, I will say that overall I'm quite pleased with what I've seen in this upgrade.

I absolutely love the emoticons. It makes the discussions and responses a little bit more personal. I like the upgrades that the site has done. It shows that they want to improve the site for the members. I am looking forward to the future upgrades that they have planned.

I think they are trying to make this as user friendly as they can. I happen to love the comic sans type face and purple, but I've known people that use colors I can only read by blocking it so its high lighted. I've also heard that some type faces bother screen readers for the visually impaired, that's not something I'm sure about, but I have heard it. The other thing I'd like is larger fonts, but I can read this so I can't object too much.
