my seven year old son recently moved to england with me and boy is he getting rude some times i wonder what to do where i come from back in trinidad and tobago its alright to smack a child or discipline them but it seems like in this country the children rule and they speak to they parents how they choose five year olds hitting there parent and calling them nasty names is a normal thing in this place where i come from that is like a crime i really dont want my son growing up to think this kind of behaviour is ok but i dont know what to do my son sees this every where he goes including the school and he thinks its perfectly normal for him to behave in this fashion but i dont

Unfortunately it is against the law in England to smack a child. Although I don't think it is right to beat a child, surely a smack isn't that bad.
I was smacked as a child when I was naughty and it has done me no harm. I think some of the problems we have today with children having no respect, is due to this.
All you can do is try and explain to him that it is better to respect people and ask him how he'd feel if someone was to hit him or call him nasty names.
