Just kidding...hehehe... I agree with you that Windows 98 doesn't eat up a lot of memory. It has a lot of disadvantages though because of the errors encountered by lots of users when installing new devices and programs. But if you don't require installing programs, then it won't be a problem.
As a tech support agent, windows 98 os is a horror for us lol. Because it's so difficult to troubleshoot and combined with the spice of a "non-techy" caller, err, who knows how long it will take to finish the call.
From where I work, we don't even support windows 98 anymore since Microsoft stopped supporting it.

Thanks, I will try to post something more here in MyLot in the future. It looks fun. I'm at work now that's why I wasn't able to start a discussion earlier and I have a call (I'm a call center agent in case you don't know). I'm just using a proxy server at the office so it's dial-up speed. lol

Ubuntu is a version of Linux OS
Its got gr8 features of the class of Vista which r effectively much better than vista in all respects.

We use to have a compaq CPU (horizontal) that originally runs on Windows 95 but was able to upgrade it to 98. It couldn't go up to XP since the requirements weren't easy for the CPU to handle.
When we had the chance, we bought a new PC some years ago and its running with Windows XP.
I could say that they have no much difference as long as you keep in mind the capacity that both computers can handle. They'll still run as fast as long as you tolerate each computer's capability and don't install too much that would make it run slower.

yes... it seems that you like XP right? that was the point here. kinda like the XP but it was like 2000 but it much higher than 2000... i think of upgrading my OS when i have a computer compatible with it. you are right of OS can be installed to a CPU witch can run it as long as you know how to maintain it right?

Well, I like it as of the moment since I'm kind'a use to it that I might think I wouldn't get lost with the previous Operating Systems under Windows. Vista certainly ate me down when I tried to browse one
Yeah, as long as it can normally run it. Pushing it to run something that its not used to would certainly be risky as well as a hassle later on..

I use WinXP on my work computer and my oldest sons compter. My wife has WinXP Media Center on her laptop. My other sons have Win98 on their computer and I have Vista on my laptop. They all work great and can communicate with each other. I do have some problems having the Win98 computer use my laser printer. They don't make the drive for it for Win98. But other than that everything works great.

I have had no problems at all with Vista. In fact, my laptop works better with Vista than it did with XP. I did the Upgrade Adviser from Microsoft and updated all my drivers and software versions before I did the upgrade and it went very smoothly. I like Vista a lot. It did take some getting used to because things are in different places. But after a few days it was great.
