On-line Poker

I have tried several on-line poker games - I quite like Texas hold-em.
The only issue is I am complete rubbish at the game.
I always seem to start well and quickly double my stake money - mostly by getting people to fold. Then everything goes against me. I always junk my hand rather than let the other players see it - is this the bast practice?
Are you any good at Poker?
Do you have any tips to help a newbie Poker player improve their game?

You have to find your own niche to be able to become a better poker player. I have played online poker for 3 years at one sight and I do quite well. I play Holdem and Omaha. Several people have told me to play AK suited or not and Pocket Aces like they were gold. I fold the AK most of the time. It's luck and position vs skill and gut instinct.

I need more than skill and instinct. Unfortunately my tendency is to be bullish and try to get everyone off the table. This tactic works until people get what I am doing. There must be a better way.
Any tips please as becoming a poker champion would be great.

You just need more experience and you will be fine, but I suggest you to play freerolls first and when you are ready go for real money. You can also read poker tips at http://www.bettingwise.hit.bg/pokertips.html

I play free at pure poker .com You can earn points to play in tourneys for money.
The thing is knowing when to bluff and when not too. I hate playing a game where people go all in. I just sit and wait till I have some decent cards. The waiting is the hardest part-LOL But can pay off in the end.
Most people dont show their hands. Just for the fact of pulling off a bluff and not letting others learn how they play. Calling a bluff is hard to do if you dont have the cards.
Ive win some, Ive lost alot-thank goodness its free-LOL

I tried Pure Poker and found it didn't teach me anything because playing for points is different to playing for cash.
I don't know if it is because I bluff so often that in the early stages of the game I win 3 out of 5 hands.
I guess people then think to themselves that I cannot always have such a good hand.
