Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films. The final book in the wildly successful series will be made into two films, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be split into two parts on the big screen. The first film is slated for release in November 2010, with part two following in May 2011

oh Thank God! I was really worried about how the movues are going. while I enjoy them and find them captivating I have found that in the last few movies there has been a significat lack of details transposed from the books to the movies. The fifth movie seemed to be just a series of scenes that were linked together by common characters. If I had not read the books then I would not have had any idea what was going on. I am glad that the seventh book will be made into two movies because this way the producers will not have to cut out too many details and the movie will seem more flowing and complete.

I agree the movies all seemed to lack the details. But no wonder no producer can fit the amazing world of the books into just one movie, its impossible. So I agree thank god that they will split it in two movies:))).

I agree, unsatisfied and a little confused. The movie was so disjointed it found it a little hard to follow even tho I had read the book only a few days previous to seeing the movie. It is a shame that the sixth book will not be two movies also.

I like this idea. Since the book is so big, There should be two movies on the book. I think they should have done that from the 4th book.

I wonder how they are going to go over what they have missed in the other movies. I mean key elements from other books that are essential to Deathly Hallows weren't introduced in the movies at all. How are they to resolve this? Strange flash backs? A remember when type story telling...I mean we can't do a catch up at that point....tooo much has gone by. This will be interesting to say the least.

I've read in Mugglenet.com that it was to be split into two movies. I see that they are finally making sense of it. I just wished that they would go into more detail, making the Deathly Hallows the last and final installment of the Harry Potter series. I think they should also go into more detail, because that's what fans love about this movie.

Wow! well, given the length of the books, it is not surprising. Can't help but fear they are milking the series for one more movie, but hopefully they can do it well. I found the last book a bit disappointing because there seemed to be many things to address. For instance, the events at Hogwarts while Harry is gone could be a book of their own. Perhaps the movie will be able to fill in some of the blank spots for me.

I remember that before 'Goblet of Fire' was made, it was planned to be divided into 2 movies too. Anyway, this is much better! It'll cover most, if not all, of the details in the book.

i hope that those upcoming movies are as good as the book, the first movies are good though it gives life to the characters, scenes, and settings but not good enough, it didn't give satisfaction to the people who have red the books, especially the last one, there's a lot of scenes omitted in the book, some are essential others are not but still people/readers were expecting to see it but its not in the movies, whatever the reasons still I'll be thankful and excited to see that movies, i still love harry potter no matter what.. :-)

I like the novel of Horry potter, but I don't like it's movies very much.I think the movie is lack of Compact plot?If you haven't seen the novel, you would not know the movie.Although the movie maker will get much more money, but i think the movie attractive is most important.I anticipate the new movie?

I hope that now that they have twice the time they're going to make a faithfull-to-the-book versiona and stop making changes so unuseful as the 3 minutes flight of the hippogriff
