Practise in the kind of setting that the competition would be like. I used to get very nervous before auditions until I got used to the process. To help me overcome it I used to get a couple of friends to sit down just before the audition (a day or so) and watch me do my piece. It was also useful as they gave me feedback on what I could improve.

a teacher once told me that to overcome nervousness by picturing all the people in the audience wearing underwear.this will bring you a chuckle and you will forget to be nervous so you can just sing your heart out. good luck.

Take deep breaths, and don't look at any people, it really helps for me when I'm in front of a lot of people to just look over the tops of their heads.

don't worry about it, everyone has the first time for doing something and will be nevours.if you want to overcome the nervous,i think you should do more practice in front of your friends or your familys or.. ,then you will do it well.

practice makes perfect, before u step onto the stage, u can practice in front of ur mom and dad, then ur colleges, then some strangers. forget urself. never mind whether u can get the prize or not, just do it.

the best advice i could give anyone would be to put yourself in that situation as much as possible. the more you face crowds, the more you get used to them. but your nerves won't ever completely go away. i've been singing in front of crowds for about 8 years. each time i go up to sing i'm still nervous, but i'm less nervous than the time before.
