This is a very hot topic with pro's and cons on each side. Are we playing god if we help a person with suicide? Was Dr. Kevorkian the doctor of death as he was dubbed a monster for helping people? Are we denying the person in pain and agony the right to die when there is no other method available to give them a healthy productive life without pain and suffering? Canada is considering legalizing assisted suicide and according to this link http://www.lifenews.com/bio2364.html the decision will be made right after the next election. What are you views on assisted suicide?

I think we should have the option of dying with dignity. If my cat gets sick and her quality of life isn't good I have the option of having her put down. If my husband gets sick and his quality of life is really poor I don't have the option to help put him out of his misery. When did compassion end? I think the good Dr should be free to continue bringing this issue to the forefront.

It's choice. You can call it self-murder but that is your opinion. We are born in the image of God, we can do as we please which is as God wished it to be.

I think i a person chooses to die because they are in constant pain or is slowly dying and don't want to prolong it any longer then it is their choice. Who wants to live if life is agonizing? I had to watch my grandpa and grandma suffer so I know something about it I heard many times them both begging for God to take them home and my grandfather wanted ot die at home so he had his hospital bed set up in his room at home and that is where he passed away. My grandparents both signed a paper not to be revived for any reason if they were to pass on.Even if they could be brought back easily they were both ready to go because of the pain they were in. So if they choose to go by getting helped out I would hate it an awful lot that they would die but I would be relieved they wouldn't be in pain anymore. But I would respect their wishes also. When a family is not ready to let go of their loved ones and they want to do everything within their power to drain and spend every last second out of that loved ones life with them I am sure they would protest their loved ones passing of it was helped along by someone even if it was a doctor. He would be considered a Monster by them but a saint by those he helped pass onto a hopefully better place.
