What does the stars beside a person's username means

When people post there would be a star with a number inside, please tell me what does it means thank you

The star represents the reputation of the mylot member. The higher the number, the higher his/her reputation in mylot...10 is the highest You can only see the star when you reached a post count of 100.

okay thx for the advice, however how do you gain reputation, and does it affect how much you get for your payout?

You can read more about the reputation via mylot FAQ here - http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx As to how it affects payout, I don't think its stated....well, maybe it doesn't really affect as much or its not implemented yet...
