Hi guys! Today I leave for a weekend trip to Myrtle Beach. It is being sponsored by our unit chaplain. We only had to pay $20 for three days two nights at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach. We of course have to be present for the "classes". Apparently there will be video presentations that our husbands did to present at the hotel. I am excited to see my husband on video, but I honestly don't want to go. My friend kind of pushed me into this lol! I think I need to get out of the house though. Maybe once I get on the road I will get excited. I will let you know how everything went upon my return! I may pop in from time to time during my stay though hehehe!

Hey Congrats on getting out of the house to go to spend a few days in a beautiful place. I would absolutely loveto be able to go to Myrtle Beach for a weekend. Classes don't last that long hen the rest of the day is yours to do as you want. Don't spend all your money Well Hope you do pop in occasionally but most of all just to tell us what a fabulas time you are having then off to go have more fun. The excitement will soon kick in. Might not be until you see the hotel but it will..Have fun but most of all have enough fun for all of us here stuck in the cooler weather wishing we were in your shoes for the weekend..lol Best of luck and have a safe trip.

I really didn't get too excited about it until I checked in to the hotel. Everyone is so nice here. I had a fish sandwich at the local eatery here and the owner was absolutely wonderful. He met us at the door and seated us. We felt so welcome. I had a fish sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. I am starting to relax and enjoy my time here. The classes are not all that bad. We are having fun, making each other laugh and enjoying each other's companies and sharing stories.

Sounds like a nice weekend break - especially the price, lol!
Once you set off and get into the weekend holiday mode, you will probably start to enjoy it mamasan; we all need a break away from the house from time to time, the everyday routine, and you will come back feeling refreshed and revived!

I have to admit you are right! I have sat on my balcony here at the hotel off and on all night, drinking coffee and looking out over the beach and the ocean. It is so beautiful and relaxing. Hearing hte ocean is very nice as well! I don't see how anyone can come here and stay stressed.

oh,, I hope you surprise yourself and have a grand time!!! and I also hope that the weather will be good for you. That is something I miss about active duty -and living near an instalation - all the little excursions you can take. We once went eagle hunting (spotting actually but they called it an eagle hunt) up in the mountains - it was great fun! hiking, viewing, and after all going to the beach when it was over.

I am really enjoying myself now. Once I arrived I started getting excited. When I saw our room, we found out that we had an ocean view, we really got excited hahaha! That sounds like fun doing that eagle spotting. I really do enjoy the military life. From now on, I am not going to be a fuddy duddy and I am going to embrace these adventures! I mean where else can we get this weekend in a beautiful hotel next to the beach for a weekend, 2 meals a day and great company for $20?

It's a beach in South Carolina. It is very nice. It has changed a lot since I was here last, about 20 years ago. I am really enjoying it and will post pictures when I return home!

Oh you will have so much fun. I am like you...I need a bit of a push to do things out of my normal routine but something like this ....I'd get caught up in it. I'm sure you will too. It will be good for you to just get away from everything. Have a great time. I'm sure you'll come home with lots of interesting stories!

I did get to see my husband on video. I cried as soon as he started speaking in the video. It was so good to see him. I am having a good time, we explored the beach and having an ocean view of the beach from our room on the 8th floor, I sat outside off and on for hours, just chilling out! I really enjoyed that!

Well, that is quite a pretty picture you have! It isn't quite as warm as I would like it to be, but it's still wonderful!

I have been here once before. I was in my teens and didn't appreciate the beauty that is here. I lucked out and got an oceanview room on the 8th floor. I absolutely love it! I hope that one day you will come here. It is worth it.

I loved Myrtle Beach, the one time that I went. I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip once you're actually there. It has to be warmer than it is everywhere else, so hopefully you'll be able to enjoy it. :)
