what do you think of online dating and online friendship?

As i browse through some paid to click sites which i am a member of i notice few ads promoting online dating and meeting friends on every corner of the globe. Some even promote earnings percentage for every new member you can refer to join. The idea looks exciting and with all the online earnings opportunities now, many people joined on this site either to look for a mate or to look for new friends they can convince to join to the programs they are a member of. I see nothing wrong with these sites in fact they promote socialization and although the utmost benefits might not be for us, we cannot deny the fact that these social networks had been part of our online life, most of our referrals came from these sites right? most of my mylot referrals in fact came from one site i am a member of, i now have 14 referrals and although most of them are not active, still the fact remains that they joined under me and they joined not because they know me personally but because they have seen my name on some social sites. what social network have you joined already, do you like that network or you see it as a trash? do you think social networks help us?
