Help With Getting Referrals

I was wondering how you get referrals for your GPT and PTR sites? I have currently been posting in a few forums, and was wondering if anyone else has any good ideas or places to get a good amount of referrals from? I'm pretty new to all of this, so any help would be much appreciated! Also, how to you keep track of everything? I belong to so many sites, is there an easy way to track it all?
