We all love rainbows, I'm sure and there is many a myth about them, but who cares? They brighten an otherwise cloudy day, arched across the sky in all their splendour.
I guess we all know by now too, the colours of the rainbow, starting from the outer (largest spanning) arc, to the inner, are as follows: Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Ever tried counting and separating them? It's not easy, I can tell you!
Most people use "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain" to remember the colours of the rainbow in order, and when I was at school, about nine or ten years old, we were given an exercise to construct a similar sentence to remember the colours by. So, I thought we could have a bit of fun, and see what you could all come up with. Using the initial letter of each colour, starting at red and working inwards to violet, construct a sentence for me that will help you to remember the colours of the rainbow... your own, unique saying.
I still remember what I wrote in school, to this day, and I will put it here to start you off... let's see how many different sayings we can get. Here's my starter...
Real Old Yellow Garters Belong In Venice.
Ok... it's your turn! See how original you can be.
