easter

what do you do for easter? i used to go to sunrise services. our church no longer has them. it is small and they only have a service at night. so during the day we have an easter egg hunt with my grandchildren. we decorate eggs the night before and then their mom hides them outside. i put a paper in a plastic easter egg that has a prize in it and who ever brings it to me gets that prize. we make an easter bunny cake for our center piece and all sit down for a meal. we thank god for all that he has given to us and for going to the cross for our sins. ever mindful that it is the day that he arose. this is my first time of starting a discussion so i do hope that you will all be kind. god bless you all.

i do the whole kid thing. the kids get up and get their baskets and go through them. then we do the egg hunt and i spend the rest of the day cooking and cleaning. lol

How many kids do you have? I have 5 grandchildren. The youngest just turned 1 yesterday. I am making them easter baskets now. I am painitng little boxes with rabbits on them and i will put a keepsake in from grandma and grandpa and hide them. Should be fun. Little Hunter will have to wait probably until next year. He probably will go after his bros and sisters stuff. He gets around so fast it is funny. Happy Easter

I have 3 kids. 2 boys and a girl ages 4,5,&9. My 9 year old does not do the easter bunny thing anymore but the boys do.

it just gets me mad when the older children try to ruin it for the younger ones. my ex son in law the four older childrens father puts a damper on everything. the kids are 12, 11, 9 and 8. the 8 yr old just had a birthday with the baby same day. she was our preemie and is doing well. she is learning from the older boys there is no such thing as the easter bunny which is ok i guess. i think children should be let to be children as long as they want.

Wow, I just saw your post, I was wondering the same thing? I love Easter. I cook up a huge lamb roast, and all the trimmings. We also hunt eggs with the kids. Great fun all around.

we usually have an easter ham and the trimmings. i let my children talk over the cooking now. i did it for my mother. i do like to make the bunny cake and help with the dying eggs.
