three types of people; morning people. afternoon people and evening people

I read in a survey that there are actually three types of people: those morning people who rise with the sun and are smiling .Their energy and accomplishments surge around noon and they begin to tire around four or five in the evening. Afternoon people who may get up early but would rather not and accomplish more around five or six in the afternoon and do not really tire until about ten or eleven at night. Then there are the evening people who love to sleep late and reach the peak of their productivity during the night when the rest of us are sleeping. which type of person are you? Do you wake at six with a smile or wake at eight with a frown and definite desire to go back to bed? Or are you at your best in the late night hours when everyone else is snoozing like mad. I am not a morning person. I have worked the morning shift for years as a nurses aide but found that they were short of help on the three to eleven shift in the hospital and that was just where I belonged. I could go to bed around midnight and sleep in until maybe ten then I woke up with a smile and found lots of time before work. \Then at four in the afternoon I was at my peak of productivity and did not get tired until about elevn thirty at night. so I was an afternoon person.

I wish! I used to be the best morning person. I used to get up...really...at 4:30 in the morning! I'd get up, jump in the shower, singing, pop out, and I'd even set off for an early morning exercise. That way, I'd have the whole day still left after that. Even when I was back in high school I got up about at 5:00 and practiced my violin before school. After my adult years came, and lots of things that went on, now I get up waaaaaayyyyyy too late. (I won't even say how late, as even for adults, it is overtime big!) So, I'd have to say I am more of an afternoon person now. I get tired in the evening so can't do as much.

Glad another like me? I want to try to gradually start getting up earlier though. It's so hard to. In the evening definitely I have to be in comfy pants and T-shirt or so, settle down with night snacks, and everything ready so i can just pop into bed easily :o)

Hi Patsie, Wow, this is interesting! I only thought there were 2 kinds - so there is one more afternoon people, eh? I am the last kind. I work best at night and am at my most alert. I rather sleep late than wake up early.

I understand the needs of parents to want to know their children are safely at home. I know a friend (who is not exactly young) but the mum would kept calling till my friend is safely back home.

My son is a night type too he was working from about six in the evening until two or three in the morning but now he has changed to going in at noon and coming home at eight or nine oclock which makes me a bit happier. i feel better knowing he is at home during the night. Not that I am afraid to be alone but it is just nice to have him home during the night. He was always a night persone I had a time getting him to sleep at night when he was a baby. Itwould be eleven oclock at night before he would fall asleep as though he was afraid he was going to miss something.

I am definitely a morning person. My feet hit the floor and I am ready to go. I don't need coffee or anything like that to get me going. But as the afternoon wears on I loose my energy and start to go in a slump.

I really wish I was more of a morning person as I would have more hours to do the things I would like to do. I envy people who can jump out of bed with a smile and are ready to go my energy starts about the time everyone else is ready to go home.when I was a kid I know I was a morning person.

I have worked all shifts. I have found I did better on the second shift. I'm not a morning person either but I prefer to get up early and get the shift over. Third shift was definately not for me.

I can't decised if i am a afternoon or a evening person. I don't sleep alot so im just as productive in the afternoon as i am at 1 o'clock in the night. I go to bed at 3 an have to get by 7 o'clock in morning.

Oh goodness, Sounds like you don't get any sleep at all! How do you survive? I wish I didn't need so many hours, but I hope you are safe with such a short sleeping span. Lucky ducky! ;o)

I have been having as time sleeping at night I go to bed at eleven or twelve then find I am awake at three am but at least if I do get to sleep Ihave no early morning committments so can sleep as late as I wish only the problem is that I am only getting about five hours sleep at the most. and I know that's not enough even for an elderly person.

I am and always have been a night person. even as a child they called me Night owl (Among other things lol). I never could go to bed before 11 or later, and it was always difficult for me to get up in the mornings.

My son was always like that even as a baby he would not go to sleep until eleven no matter what then as an adult he worked the night shift until lately and he now works from noon to eight which he sees to find agreeable.
