Ok I'm not one of those girly girl types most of my friends are male and I do leave the house with out make up .. I do have to have gloss or lipstick on most of the time not all of the time. But I do occassionally get my wmails down and eyebrows waxed. So my question to you guys is do you have any good waxing stories? Like trying to do it your self or with a friend? I tried to wax my legs once it was a flipping mess.

I get my eyebrows threaded which is kinda of like waxing but looks nicer. I have in the past had bikini waxes which is a must for me. I also had a Brazilian wax once- ONCE...ouch!

LOL!!!Yep I would have to be drunk to get a brazilian. LOL!! I will have to see if they have someone around here that does threading... It sounds really interesting and a lot better than the waxing type shaping .. LOL!! thanks for the info.

Yep no brazilian for me .. I don't like pain that much. LOL!! Ok so explain threading to me. I get mine waxed but it's shaping them not totally waxed off where I pencil them in . I could never do that.

Ewwww I could never take all my eyebrows off either. Threading is where the take a piece of thread and somehow shape your eyebrows with it. They knot it a special way and then it takes off your hair at the root. It sounds brutal but it's so fast and the brows look much cleaner and are shaped amazing. It can also be used to trim your hair down if you grow long eyebrows. Basically, the end result are those nicely shaped, trimmed movie star brows. Threading I believe is widely done in the Indian population. I have only had 2 ladies ever thread my brows and they were both from India. By the way, the Braziian doesn't hurt that bad. Just a little but then again I have only had it done once too and I was probably drunk- LOL! :)

I have a sister who hates me. Ever since she turned 13 she had to shave her legs twice a day and her underarms almost as often. Now that she is in her middle years she covers up her legs in lyle stockings and never goes around in anything without sleeves. She has waxed, shaved, plucked, you name it. Nothing works and she goes through at least two electric razors a year and god knows how many disposables. The reason she hates me, is because, though I have the normal amount of body hair, it's very fine, very sparse, and very transparent against my freckles. I only need to shave my legs about 3 times a year - and that's mostly vanity for special nights, and my underarms mostly only in the winter, about 4 or 5 times. I still use the same razor my sister oh so gleefully gave to me when I was 13 and she was convinced I would have the same problem she does. Every Christmas she asks me if I need a new razor yet and every No I give her results in no gift from her at all. Like I said. She hates me. *sigh*

might have been a good idea to have you take an Ibeprofin before you had the waxing done. LOL!! and maybe not doing it together would have been better for you.

OK by your definition, I am not the girlie type too Bella and I love myself the way I look. Its only for occassions that the mascara goes to my lids and the blush touches my cheeks. Eyebrows are there too in all the joys of their abundant growth. Otherwise the old faithful lipstick is all that I need. No jewelleries for me either. Only an old pair of gold earrings, and as per custom demands, a single gold bangle on each of my arms. The watch is there too since I dont carry any mobile phone. But there was a time when I religiously waxed my legs at least. My arms are not too hairy but when I used to wear minis, I would definitely wax my legs. The entire process was ouch! so painful I almost felt like & kicking the girl sitting in front of me and whoooosh one pull and the cloth comes off with the hair and wax and some skin too. But now I am no longer into minis and skirts so I dont go for waxing at all. I have never tried it at home though.

Hi Bella, I don’t feel old, but I certainly don’t always like the face that stares back at me from the mirror. But you know what…the made-up face with all the glamour of imposed youth, makes it look far worse. And no, we are not old, we are just acting our age.

I wax my eyebrows every once in a while. I usually am too lazy to do it though and end up grabbing the razor to do the job. LOL! I did try the leg waxing ONE time. Did you ever watch the movie What Women Want with Mel Gibson? There's the scene where he tries the Nads waxing kit on his legs, and when he rips the first strip off he screams, cusses and falls off the stool. That described me to a tee when I tried it. I screamed so loud that the neighbors came outside and were asking if I was ok (the bathroom window was open). Needless to say, I was in so much agony and so mortified that the neighbors heard me that I never tried it again.

I haven't had my eyebrows waxed in over a year now and boy do they need doing - there is no way anyone is getting near them with tweezers - that hurts! I do like getting waxed but only done it at home once and that was when my friend who was a beautician brought ropund her wax pot (or whatever that thingy for the hot wax is called!) We did persuade my old supervisor to wax his back for charity years ago! After the first strip he was in tears and begging us not to do anymore but we had guessed he might do that and had all the strips in place! lol We were very kind and ripped them off quickly for him! Serves him right , not for having a hairy back but for letting US know he had a hairy back! h xxx

It really was funny, he was begging us to stop but we were too busy laughing to tell him we couldn't or he would have the wax and the strips permanently stuck to his back! lol As i was the ringleader we did it the day before I went on a fortnights holiday as I knew he would make me pay for it!Just wait til the next big cancer event - you can get people to agree to so much more then! xxxx

Lol, once I got my eyebrows waxed and the lady took off half of one. NEVER AGAIN. xD I have no interest in waxing or shaving my legs because I don't think it's worth the time. It just doesn't seem necessary to me, but I do shave my armpits. I had a disastrous happening with that once, but that's another story! Haha! I, like you, also don't wear any makeup. I get up quickly to go to school every morning and I don't see the point. I always see girls in the bathroom fussing over that stuff, but it doesn't mean anything to me. At least not yet, I guess.

Haha these stories are all so funny. I tried waxing my legs myself once like 5 years ago or so. Never did it again. I tried a Veet cold wax kit and in good hopes I smeared the strips on and then flattened them on my legs. I just closed my eyes and tore as hard as I could. I pretended as if I liked the pain and eventually the job was done. The last time I got something waxed was a month ago. It was my underarms and man, that hurted. I am only waxing in parlors now and when that happned the girl had the nerve to pluck every little stub out of my underarm. huhu

Ouch.... Plucking of the stubs under your arms I feel for you . I'll stick to shaving my underarms. LOL!! I also decide that I'll only use professionals to wax. LOL!!!
