I thought so. By my recollection, like a lot of his books, it was made into a movie.

I think he wrote 'Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less' and 'Kane and Abel'. He is known more as a politician than author. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party for UK.

I love the books written by Clive Cussler, his adventure series are awesome. Im trying to collect all his books but its slow. I also love Enid Blyton - a children's author. Her books are fun

I have a couple of Enid Blyton books from when I was a kid. I couldn't believe that they later banned some of her books due to political correctness. I think it had something to do with the golliwog being black.

J. G. Ballard. His earlier 60's stuff was more hard SF. But he really became known for his 70's novels, which are sort of urban landscape psychological SF/Horror. Really hard to describe.

i have quite a few, I love JK Rowling's Harry Potter series, Bertrice Small is also one of my faves, she writes historical romance, but don't let the "romance" thing fool you, her books are not only historically correct but have a lot of action and an engrossing plot. Marion Zimmer-Bradley for her Mists of Avalon series, and Margaret Starbird has some interesting books as well. There are many more authors that I have read everything they have written.

Naturally I have other authors as well. Stephen Donaldson's The Chronicles Of Thomos Covenant, Anne McCaffrey's Dragons Of Pern Series, and the list goes on.

Chase - James Hadley Chase was wildly popular in Asia and Africa. He also enjoyed success in France and Italy where more than twenty of his books were made into movies. Joseph Losey's film version of Chase's thriller EVE (1945), made in 1962, was cut by the producers, the Hakim brothers. In the story Stanley Baker played by a British writer, Tyvian, who is obsessed by a cold-hearted femme fatale, Eve. "Do you know how much this weekend's going to cost me?" he asks Eve. "Two friends, thirty thousand dollars …and a wife." Robert Aldrich's gangster film The Grissom Gang (1971) was based on No Orchids for Miss Blandish, and presented a wide variety of depraved criminals. He was also extremely popular in Soviet Union during and after the perestroika years around 1990-1993.
Genarally I read books for killing time. That too James Hadley Chase crime.
